Eco-Home Orphanage

Nepal-Eco Home-LRP-0200

The Eco-Home Orphanage has been among Dooley Intermed’s most active projects.

The Dooley Intermed supported Eco-Home for Orphaned Children ....

Dooley Intermed is determined to help the young orphans of Nepal, and your contributions are making their dreams come true. We first began helping orphans in Nepal in 2007, when we discovered a group of children sleeping on straw mats on bare floors, with tattered clothing, non-existent healthcare, minimal opportunities for school, and very little food.  Dooley Intermed stepped in to provide critical support for food, shelter and clothing, and then initiated a major plan with our Nepal based Dooley Intermed affiliate, Mission Himalaya, to build a brand new Orphanage facility in a beautiful rural area with clean air and water located about 50 km. from Kathmandu. The location we selected is near the village of Dhulikiel, located in a fertile valley with access to a high quality local private school and a new Dooley Intermed sponsored Community Health Post. Our goal has been to create a brand new dedicated Orphanage complete with proper dorm rooms and bathrooms, a small meeting hall, and an adjoining modest “eco-farm” with outdoor space for a playground and an extensive vegetable garden and chicken coop to provide fresh eggs, an important source of protein for the children. We currently have 30 children happily living at this beautiful new facility!  Please check our “news and events” web page for progress reports and pictures.
