Supporting Pregnant Women in Rural Nicaragua

Because of our supporters Dooley Intermed continues to support the Santa Inés clinic in Nicaragua, which provides comprehensive health care, medical consultations, patient education, clinical laboratory services, dental extractions and special tests. The maternal waiting home, which is located next to the Santa Ines Clinic, continues offering help and support for pregnant and postpartum women from the surrounding communities in a safe and comfortable environment. Some of the patients require ultrasound or electrocardiogram exams and are then referred to the Puerto Cabezas Hospital for clinical management and follow-up treatment. Many of these patients travel many miles from their far flung communities but are determined to receive medical care for themselves and their families.
